Moshe Lobel is an American actor, filmmaker, and musician known for his work on Leibniz's Law, Untold Genius, and The Vigil.
Lobel's date of birth and current age has not been disclosed. He grew up in a Hasidic family that exclusively spoke Yiddish. In his early years, Lobel resided in a mostly English-speaking community in New Jersey and attended a bilingual school.
At the age of seven, he moved to Borough Park, Brooklyn, with his parents and joined the Yiddish-speaking Satmar school. "I was lucky to speak English early on.. had the encouragement of an open-minded parent..but many of my classmates still speak in broken English," he wrote in an article published in lohud.com.
In the article, Lobel mentioned that he went for a somewhat liberal yeshiva for high school but was dissatisfied with the education system and sent a "last-minute appeal to join a modern Orthodox school for the 12th grade".
He couldn't make it past the second year of his college. "I just wasn’t prepared. I was still smart — many things came with ease — and I never stopped being curious. But I ultimately lacked the foundational skills to succeed in a mainstream school", Lobel added.
Lobel's net worth is still under review. He made his Off-Broadway debut in New Yiddish Rep's Awake and Sing in 2017. Moshe also appeared in the comedy-drama television and web series High Maintenance. The series originally premiered as a web series on Vimeo and later started airing as a television series on HBO.
The fourth season, which has now been confirmed as the final season, premiered in February 2020. Following this, Lobel played the role of Mordkha in Joel Grey's critically acclaimed National Yiddish Theatre Folksbiene's production of Fiddler on the Roof in 2019.
That same year, he co-produced an original comedy series titled Untold Genius. Lobel gained significant recognition for playing the role of Lazer in the supernatural horror film, The Vigil, alongside Dave Davis, Menashe Lustig, Malky Goldman, and Lynn Cohen. It premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival in September 2019. and was distributed in the US in February 2021 by IFC Midnight.
Lobel appears to be unmarried as of now. He seems to be enjoying his bachelor lifestyle and is more focused on building a successful career in the arts as an actor, filmmaker, and musician.
