Sir Mohamed Muktar Jama Farah, professionally known as Mo Farah, is a British long-distance runner. He is considered the most successful British track athlete in modern Olympic Games history, having won Olympic gold medalist in both the 5000 m and 10,000 m. Farah is currently 37 years old. He was born on March 23, 1983, in Mogadishu, Somalia to a family from Gabiley, Somaliland. His parents were living in Mogadishu at the time of his birth where his father worked as a businessman.

The 37-year-old spent his early years as a refugee in Djibouti with his twin brother, Hassan Farah, after fleeing from Mogadishu to Gabiley with his family. Talking about his height and weight, Mo is 5 ft and 9 in (1.75 m) tall and weighs 60 kg (132 lb).

At the age of eight, Farah moved to Britain to join his father, Mukhtar Farah, who works as an IT consultant. Mo's father, a British citizen, was born in London and grew up in Hounslow. Moreover, Mo's grandfather, Jama Farah, was born in the British protectorate of Somaliland.

Farah attended Isleworth and Syon School, and Feltham Community College before joining the Borough of Hounslow Athletics Club in west London. He also trained at St Mary's University College, Twickenham from 2001 to 2011.

Farah married his long-time girlfriend Tania Nell in April 2010, in Richmond, London. They first met at a west London university. 

Mo and his wife has three children together; twin daughters Aisha Farah and Amani Farah, born in August 2012, and a son Hussein Farah, born in 2015. He also has a stepdaughter, Rhianna, from his wife Tania's previous relationship.
