She impersonated several celebrities including Ann Landers, Brooke Shields, Eleanor Roosevelt, Marilyn Monroe, Nancy Reagan, and Suzanne Somers. 

Mary made her film debut in the 1986 film Club Paradise as Jackie. She then starred in films like Baby Boom, The Couch Trip, Feds, The Santa Claus, 40 Days and 40 Nights, and A Mighty Wind. 

In 1989, she was cats as Abigail Maclntyre Kellogg in CBS sitcom The People Next Door alongside Jaclyn Bernstein, Jeffrey Jones, and Leslie Jordan.
