Mark Metcalf is an American television and film actor who is best known for playing ROTC officer Douglas C. Neidermeyer in National Lampoon's Animal House, The Maestro in the hit sitcom Seinfeld, and The Master in Buffy the Vampire Slayer.
He is also known for appearing as the cantankerous father and high school teacher in Twisted Sister music videos for the songs "We're Not Gonna Take It" and "I Wanna Rock" respectively.
Metcalf is currently 74 years old. He was born on March 11, 1946, in Findlay, Ohio, USA. His father was a civil engineer. Talking about his height, Mark is 6 ft and 1 in (1.85 m) tall.
The 74-year-old grew up in Webster Groves, Missouri, a suburb of St. Louis, before moving to New Jersey with his parents and siblings in 1959.
Metcalf then attended Westfield High School and graduated in 1964. In hopes of following his father's footsteps, he had enrolled in the engineering program at the University of Michigan but later moved westward to work in film.
According to Celebrity Net Worth, Metcalf has a net worth of $2 million as of 2021. His first major film role was ROTC cadet officer Douglas C. Neidermeyer in the 1978 comedy film Animal House.
He reprised his "Neidermeyer" persona and the line "You're all worthless and weak!" from the Animal House in the Twisted Sister music videos for the song "We're Not Gonna Take It" in 1984.
Metcalf also appeared as a teacher with a similar temperament to Neidermeyer reprising the "What do you want to do with your life?!" question from "We're Not Gonna Take It" in yet another Twisted Sister's music video for "I Wanna Rock" that same year.
The 74-year-old played as The Master in the series Buffy the Vampire Slayer and its spin-off series Angel from 1997 to 2002. His other notable credits include Miami Vice, Walker, Texas Ranger, Party of Five, Hill Street Blues, Teen Angel, Star Trek: Voyager, Ally McBeal, and Seinfeld.
Metcalf married his then-girlfriend Elizabeth “Libby” Wick on July 26, 1989. They have a son, Julius Metcalf, though his date of birth has not been disclosed.
Mark moved to his wife’s home state of Wisconsin from Los Angeles, California in 2000. They opened a restaurant called Libby Montana in nearby Mequon, Wisconsin.
The 74-year-old filed for “default divorce” in Milwaukee County on December 12, 2003, which was finalized on April 6, 2005. In 2008, he sold his interest to his ex-wife who is now the sole owner of Libby Montana restaurant.
Metcalf relocated to Missoula, Montana, in 2013 to be near his son Julius, who was an undergraduate student at the University of Montana and a volunteer intern in the Montana Natural History Center at that time.
