His father, Terry Allen Mayfield, remarried following his parent's divorce. However, he and his step-mother, Lisa Mayfield, seem to have animosity against each other. Lisa claimed that Jeremy had been using methamphetamines since 1998. 

The 51-year-old has refuted the claim and, in turn, accused her of murdering his father. However, as per the police reports, Terry committed suicide. Mayfield's father died in September 2007 at the age of 56 from a gunshot wound to the chest.

Mayfield was ordered to pay $88,124.41 and an extra $1,100 in court costs after being convicted on two counts; one for possession of drug paraphernalia and another for possessing stolen items, in January 2014.

Mayfield is married to his second wife, Shana Sessions Mayfield, since 2003. The two first met in the late 90s and dated for almost four years before exchanging wedding vows at the First Baptist Church in Myrtle Beach on January 4.  

He was previously married to Christina Keith. Mayfield and Keith married on February 20, 1993, and remained together for nearly a decade. They ended their eight-year-long marriage on March 15, 2002. Jeremy has no children from both relationships.
