Jeremy Allen Mayfield is an American stock car racing driver. He is a five-time Nascar Nextel Cup Series winner and has driven cars for the Sadler brothers, Cale Yarborough, T.W. Taylor, Michael Kranefuss, to name a few.
Mayfield is 51 years old as of now. He was born on May 27, 1969, in Owensboro, Kentucky, USA. His height is 6 ft (1.83 m). Jeremy spent his early years in Kentucky with his family.
His father, Terry Allen Mayfield, remarried following his parent's divorce. However, he and his step-mother, Lisa Mayfield, seem to have animosity against each other. Lisa claimed that Jeremy had been using methamphetamines since 1998.
The 51-year-old has refuted the claim and, in turn, accused her of murdering his father. However, as per the police reports, Terry committed suicide. Mayfield's father died in September 2007 at the age of 56 from a gunshot wound to the chest.
According to Celebrity Net Worth, Mayfield has a net worth of $100,000 as of 2021. He first started racing go-karts at local short tracks in his hometown before moving to Nashville Speedway USA at the age of 19.
The 51-year-old eventually started working as a fabricator for Sadler Brothers Racing and then as their driver, earning the Late Model Rookie of the Year title at 1987 Kentucky Motor Speedway.
He made his Cup debut in the 1993 Mello Yello 500 and announced his plans to run for NASCAR Winston Cup Series Rookie of the Year a year later. During his NASCAR career, he had 36 career Busch Series starts.
Jeremy also had three Craftsman Truck Series starts, with the best finish of 6th at the Hardee's 200 for Green Light Racing in 2003. The 51-year-old was suspended as both owner and driver by NASCAR in May 2009 after showing a positive test for methamphetamine.
He also reportedly possessed $10,000 in stolen property in the house, leading to potential theft charges. Moreover, as per Catawba county tax officials, he owed over $82,000 in back taxes on his four properties.
Mayfield was ordered to pay $88,124.41 and an extra $1,100 in court costs after being convicted on two counts; one for possession of drug paraphernalia and another for possessing stolen items, in January 2014.
Mayfield is married to his second wife, Shana Sessions Mayfield, since 2003. The two first met in the late 90s and dated for almost four years before exchanging wedding vows at the First Baptist Church in Myrtle Beach on January 4.
He was previously married to Christina Keith. Mayfield and Keith married on February 20, 1993, and remained together for nearly a decade. They ended their eight-year-long marriage on March 15, 2002. Jeremy has no children from both relationships.
