    Hannah Teter is an American snowboarder who won the gold medal in halfpipe at the 2006 Winter Olympic Games held in Torino, Italy. Likewise, she is the 2009 Gold medal winner at the US Snowboarding Grand Prix in Boreal. Besides this, Teter is known for appearing in A Theory of Revolution, First Descent, and Snow Blind.

    She is American as per her nationality and has white ethnic descent. Likewise, she grew up alongside her four siblings. Teter went and graduated from Okemo Mountain School.

    Fun Fact: Two of her older brothers: Abe and Elijah competed for the US Snowboard team while her eldest brother Amen is their manager. 

    Snowboarding Career Highlights

    Born into a snowboarding family, Hannah began snowboarding at a young age of 8. She took her first lesson at her home mountain of Okemo. 

    By the age of 15, Hannah was the World Junior Halfpipe Champion. In September 2002, she achieved a 4th-place finish in her first World Cup halfpipe event at Valle Nevado, Chile.

    In between 2002 to 2004, Teter competed in seven World Cup events winning four out of them. Likewise, she got third-place finish at her first FIS World Championships. 

    In 2006, Hannah competed at the 2006 Winter Olympic Games in Turin and won the Olympic gold medal beating out US teammate Gretchen Bleiler who won silver.

    During the 2010 Winter Olympic Games in Vancouver, Teter finished with the silver medal with a score of 42.4. 

    Similarly, she finished fourth at the 2014 Sochi Winter Olympics in the Halfpipe. 

    Did You Know? Hannah is a vegetarian and credits her plant-based diet for taking her to a whole other level as an athlete.

    Moreover, she was also featured alongside Shaun White and Terje Hakonsen in the 2005 documentary film, First Descent, which is about the growth of snowboarding. 

    Similarly, she starred in the 2006 documentary Snow Blind alongside JJ Thomas and Brent Meyer.

    As of early 2021, Hannah is worth $1 million according to various sources. Most of her assets comes from her professional snowboarding career.

    In 2013, she along with co-author Tawnya Schultz published an instructional snowboarding book entitled Mastering Snowboarding.

    Charity & Philanthropic Works

    Apart from snowboarding, Hannah is also involved in several charitable and philanthropic works. In 2008, Hannah founded a charity called Hannah's Gold in collaboration with World Vision which helps to support the village of Kirindon, Kenya by building schools, digging fresh water wells, and providing water filtration. 

    In addition, she donated all her prize money to the Kirindon program in 2009. The same year, she was featured in a PETA ad campaign protesting the Canadian seal hunt. 

    She was named a Global Ambassador for Special Olympics in 2014.

    Is She Dating Anyone?

    The 34-year-old gold medalist is currently dating Luke Johnson. The couple have been together for a couple of years now. 

    Luke even wished Happy Valentines with a photo of them along with a cute caption on his official Instagram account. 

    Previously, she was dating The Challenge star Johnny Bananas. The couple reportedly began dating in 2012 and went separate ways in 2017 after five years of dating.
