LaPier first married at the age of 19 to a longtime friend Larry Ray Robertson. They tied the knot in 1984 and separated nearly a decade later. 

She first met her second husband, Ron Rice, founder of Hawaiian Tropic, while participating in a Hawaiian Tropic Beauty Pageant in 1985.

Rice and LaPier soon started dating and got married in 1990. Their daughter, Sterling Vondayne Rice, was born on June 12, 1990, in Los Angeles County, California.

While still married to Rice, Darcy fell in love with Street Fighter actor Jean-Claude Van Damme. The Belgian actor was then married to his third wife Gladys Portugues.

When Rice learned about the affair, he initiated divorce proceedings. However, upon discovering that Darcy had not properly divorced her first husband at the time, Ron annulled the marriage.

Following the annulment, the 55-year-old tied the knot with Jean-Claude on February 3, 1994, in Bangkok Thailand. Their son, Nicolas Van Varenberg, was born on October 10, 1995, in Los Angeles, California.

The two separated in 1997. Darcy alleged that Van Damme was a cocaine addict and physically abusive, seeking a restraining order as well as custody of their then 2-year old son.

Darcy moved into a 32,000 square-foot Malibu mansion and was lavished with a $4 million-worth personal helicopter and a limited-edition Bentley among many expensive gifts from the love-struck then-43-year-old multimillionaire.

Hughes died just a year later from an accidental overdose of the antidepressant and alcohol, leaving her a $100 million fortune. Mark had promised her a "$1 million at every wedding anniversary during the first five years of marriage, an extra $25,000 annually after six years of marriage, and $10 million cash at his death" in a pre-nuptial agreement. 

LaPier married her fifth husband, Brian Snodgrass, in April 2002. Brian's family founded the Seven Dees nursery chain. Together, they have a daughter named Madison Snodgrass. Brian and Darcy separated in 2010.
