In 1999, the Multi-millionaire joined the Navy. Likewise, the following year, he went on to undergo SEAL training, completing two weeks before being kicked out before graduation after having a disagreement with one of his administrators. 

Bilzerian began playing poker professionally at the age of 29 in 2009. During the 2009 World Series of Poker Main vent, he finished in 180th place. 

Although Dan's official career winnings are relatively small, he claims to have won tens of millions in private events. Back in November 2013, he posted an unconfirmed claim of winning $10.8 million from a single game of heads-up, no-limit hold'em at stakes of $5,000 to $10,000.

Likewise, in 2014, he claimed to have won $50 million throughout the year. Bilzerian has lost more than $3 million on at least three different occasions.

Daniel Brandon Bilzerian was born on 7th December 1980 in Tampa, Florida, the United States of America, to corporate takeover specialists Paul Bilzerian and Terri Steffen. As of 2021, He is 40 years old.  

Likewise, Dan holds dual nationality (American-Armenian) and has mixed ethnic ancestry. He grew up alongside his brother Adam Bilzerian who is also a poker player.

Legal Issues

In 2014, Dan sued the producers of the 2013 film Lone Survivor stating that he invested $1 million in the film in exchange for at least eight minutes of screen time and 80 words of dialogue, but his role was reduced to less than one minute and just one line. 

His lawsuit demanded $1.2 million (the original investment plus 20 percent) but was later dropped as he reportedly generated $1.5 in revenue. 

The same year, he was banned from a Miami nightclub after kicking model Vanessa Castano in the face during a fight. Castano later filed a lawsuit against Dan for her injuries and also asked for $1 million to settle the suit citing the possibility of greater punitive damages based on his income if the case went to trial. 

Recently in July 2020, he was sued by former Ignite president Curtis Heffernan for wrongful termination. He claimed that he was fired for criticizing Bilzerian's misappropriating of company funds for his lavish lifestyle. 

Las Vegas Shooting Incident

On 1st October 2017, during the Las Vegas shooting, Bilzerian was present at the shooting and also filmed himself several times and posted videos to Instagram. 

The first video shows him fleeing to safety, whereas the second one stated, 

"had to go grab a gun. Im headed back." 

His other videos showed him looking for a police car and asking a policeman for a gun. 

In the final two videos, he was seen heading home stating, 

"I don't think there's much I can do." 

Later Dan was widely criticized for his actions.
