Beverley Jane McEwan, known as Beverley Callard, is an English actress. She is best known for her role as Liz McDonald in the ITV soap opera Coronation Street. In November 2020, it was revealed that Callard would appear in the twentieth series of I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here.

Callard is currently 63 years old. She was born on March 28, 1957, in Leeds, Yorkshire, England, UK, as Beverley Jane Moxon, to Clive Moxon (1929 - 1978) and Mavis Brook (1926 - 2012).

The eldest of three children, Beverley had a brother, named Clive Moxon, who died at birth in 1960. Her younger sister, Stephanie Moxon Makin was born in 1963.

Beverley's father, Clive, worked as a baker, and her mother, Mavis, worked as a concert pianist. Talking about her height, Callard is 5 ft and 5 ft (1.65 m) tall. She attended Elmfield and Peel Street schools and Bruntcliffe High School in Morley, England.

Who is Beverley Callard married to? Her Husband & Children

Callard first married Paul Atkinson on January 19, 1974, at the age of 16. She was pregnant then but later miscarried. The two welcomed their first child, a daughter Rebecca Callard, who is now an actress, on June 3, 1975.

A year later, Paul and Beverley divorced and she married her second husband David Sowden, an economics teacher, in 1980. After separating amicably with Sowden in 1988, Callard married her third husband, Steve Callard, in February 1989. 

Their son, Joshua James Callard, was born in May 1989. The pair, however, separated in 2001, due to Steve's infidelity. Beverley is now married to her fourth husband, Jon McEwan, since October 30, 2010.

Their wedding ceremony was held at the Hazelwood Castle Hotel in North Yorkshire, England. As of now, Callard lives in Eccles, Salford, Greater Manchester, with her husband Jon and his son Ben McEwan. 

Beverley Callard Illness & Surgery

In March 2020, Callard was admitted to a hospital in the North West for routine keyhole surgery. However, the surgery "really didn’t go very well at all" leading to a full hip replacement.

“I was in a state of shock and pain for four months. It has been absolute hell. That is how bad it has been. There was definite doubt over whether I would walk again," she told The Mirror. 

The 63-year-old actress is now suing the hospital with a negligence charge claiming that she was never meant to undergo the initial surgery.
