Poarch was born in the Philippines on February 8, 2001, as per PopBuzz, which would make her 20 years old as of 2021. However, Famous Birthdays mentioned her birth year as 1997, make her 24 years old now.

It seems the latter one is her exact birth date since Poarch claimed to have served in the US Navy and was stationed in Japan in 2017. But to serve in the US Navy, one must be at least 17 years old. It's highly unlikely that she would have been just 16 (if born in 2001) during her time in Japan.

Besides her age, Bella also has been scrutinized for using an apparently fake name. She has been active in the social media channels like YouTube, Tik Tok, Twitter, and Twitch only recently, having created those accounts between March and May of 2020.

It also went on to be the most-liked TikTok videos of all time and helped her achieve a meteoric rise to stardom. Bella now has over 40 million followers on Tik Tok, 10 million on Instagram, 295K on Twitter, and more than 176k subscribers on YouTube. Her earning per sponsored Instagram post is estimated to range from $20,000 to $34,000.

The 24-year-old faced backlash for her tattoo of the Japanese “rising sun” flag that featured a red circle with 16 red rays emanating from it. The flag is a symbol of Japanese imperialism to countries who fell victim to Japan's imperialism, as per CNN, and has even compared o the Nazi swastika. 

"I apologize to Koreans because 6 months ago I got a tattoo of the red sun with 16 rays. At that time, I didn’t know the history..But when I found out, I immediately had it covered and scheduled for removal. I am ashamed of myself for not doing my research," she later tweeted.
