She then went and appeared as Nurse Appleton alongside Susan Lucci, David Canary, Cameron Mathison, and James Mitchell in All My Children. 

In 1998, Ami joined the cast of police procedural and legal drama series Law & Order starring George Dzundza, Chris Noth, and Dann Florek. She starred in the show until 2009 playing various characters such as Judge Madeline Drake, Judge Cale, Dr. Felicity Cyrus, Donna Faison, and others.
